08/24/10 Acucela Moves Headquarters to Downtown Seattle

 

Acucela announced today that the company’s headquarters is moving to downtown Seattle from Bothell. Ryo Kubota, M.D., Ph.D., chairman, president and chief executive officer, prompted the company’s return to downtown Seattle in order to more actively participate in the vibrant local biotech community. As Acucela continues to make significant progress with its scientific and clinical development, the company’s corporate relocation is also timed in anticipation of adding another 20 employees this year to its roster of about 50 current employees. Acucela will continue to operate lab facilities at its Bothell location.
